Murol Video
Murol is a social media platform that allowed users to share wide, landscape photos on your mobile device. The app was built to empower users to share and follow landscape photography to it’s full potential. In addition to being a local Minneapolis startup, the Murol team were also active leaders of change.
Roles: Video Producer, Video Editing, Photography
Goals
The purpose of the project was to gain and share perspective directly from those affected by the 2017 travel ban that restricted immigrants from several different nations around the world. We interviewed seven individuals to share their experiences and stories with us. My role on the project was video production, photography, and editing.
Strategy
This project was a two-day shoot at the Minnesota State Capitol with 2 months of postproduction. I started by working with the Creative Director and founder of Murol to take the concept and build out technical requirements and set up needs. On the day of the shoot, I was responsible for shooting video, audio, and lighting. In post-production, I created a series of storyboards to help condense all the footage into clear ideas and direction.
Once we established direction, I split the footage into smaller, digestible blocks to help the team envision the flow and create a timeline.
