Hitch Adventures

Hitch is a new teardrop camper rental business. Locally owned. Women-owned. Completely built from the ground up, the project was focused on building the brand, establishing their web presence, and creating a quick path for rental conversion.

Goals

My goal was to create a website and brand identity that captures the personality and charm that Hitch radiates. The brand is an extension of Emma, a joyful entrepreneur who encourages the people around her to make the most of life.

Challenges

While Emma was hard at work renovating Hitch, she did not have branding, video or photography. When I met with her, we brainstormed around opportunities to make the website more engaging and inviting.

Photography & Video

Getting an outdoor camping environment to shoot in in the cities is difficult to find. We knew we wanted to harness natural light and make it feel authentic, so we found a tree farm 20 minutes north of the cities. After building a relationship with the owner, our product shoot was set up for a night when we would catch a sunset. Since we couldn’t predict the weather, we patiently waited for the perfect night and moved swiftly when the time came. I developed the shot list, set up scenes, and used reflectors to balance my shots.

 
 
 

Branding

I worked with Emma to strategize her position in the market while determining her focus and personality. We began a creative brief, brand exercises, followed by copy and detailed specs. We then determined our approach to the website and visual assets we needed to create.

Results

Since most of her traffic came through social media and the local camping community, we needed to make the website simple, appealing, and informative as possible. A key consideration we had to make was that Emma needed a quick and cost-effective way to book her rental. For that reason, we chose to leverage an external booking service.

Since the website launch, Hitch Adventures has seen a 400% increase in conversion rate, doubled her social following, and has begun expansion on another camper.
